Background
Trenton joined Baird in 2024 as a Client Assistant and recently graduated from Baird’s Financial Advisor Training Program (FATP). He earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in 2024, where he also excelled as a student-athlete on the varsity fencing team. During his time at Columbia, he helped lead the team to two Ivy League Championships, balancing the demands of Division I athletics with academic achievement.
Before his collegiate career, Trenton was a two-time National Champion, a Pan American Champion, and a Junior Olympic Champion in fencing. He also represented the U.S. National Team in international competitions across Europe, gaining valuable experience on some of the world’s top competitive stages. Trenton is proud to work alongside his father, Matthew Schmitt, contributing to the ongoing success of their advisory team.
Outside the Office
An outdoorsman at heart, Trenton enjoys hiking, mountaineering, surfing, hunting, and camping in his spare time. His passion for adventure and the outdoors reflects his energetic and disciplined approach to life and work.
